Furthering his singer-songwriter ambitions, Peter Doran has published his new album “All the World Is Running on a Mystic Code” — a project that thrives on thoughtful songwriting and mellow instrumentation.
Listeners might recognize Doran from his previously well-received tracks such as “Blue Mountains” from his prior album ‘Voices’ (a glimmering vocal duet with Hayley Heynderickx) and “Every Little Thing,” which has reached over 2 million global listeners since its release in 2012.
Well accustomed to the heartfelt Americana and folk sounds, the Irish moniker takes a grounded approach with his work; more than anything, it's candidly human: a sense of fragility remains embedded in the stripped-back, ruminative performances. Tagging along the introspective renditions are airy, sparse, and tender acoustic compositions (although the singer-songwriter opts for breezy ensembles frequently, as heard on tunes such as “Clockwork” and “Steamboat Captain”).
Nearly two decades since his seminary debut project “Wood,” Peter Doran has settled and continuously refined his knack for capturing deeper and unsaid sentiments, which very well extends onto this expansive album.
